The entire IIT JAM 2021 test paper has the division of three sections that is A, B, and C. All the sections contain a different type of questions and those are must attempt. All the sections are mentioned below.
Section A
- This section consists of 30 MCQ or Multiple-Choice Questions that includes 10 questions of 1 mark each and 20 questions for 2 marks each.
- There are 4 choices for each MCQ from where a candidate needs to select one correct answer.
- For the incorrect answer of each 1-mark question, 1/3 mark will be deducted and for the incorrect answer of each 2-mark question, 2/3 mark will be deducted.
Section B
- This section consists of 10 MCQ which contains 2 marks for each question.
- There are also 4 choices out of which a candidate can select one of more than one correct answer.
- There will not be any negative marks for an incorrect answer in section B.
Section C
- This section includes 20 NAT or Numerical Answer Type that contain 10 questions of 1 mark each and also 10 questions of 2 marks each.
