CLAT 2022 Question Paper Analysis

As per the CLAT Exam Pattern, the UG question paper comprises of 150 questions divided into 5 sections. The sections include English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. And the PG question paper comprises of 120 questions is divided into 2 sections - Constitutional Law and Other areas of law. CLAT Exam Duartion 2022 was 120 minutes (2 hours). Each question carried 1 mark and 0.25 marks was deducted for every wrong answer. It was essential to attempt the questions strategically as there was a negative marking to the extent of 25% The section-wise analysis, the number of questions asked from various sub-topics, and the difficulty level of each sub-topic for CLAT 2022 Question Paper is tabulated below. English Easy but lengthy 6 Comprehensions with 5 questions each i.e. 30 MCQs 5 Comprehension were non-fiction based (from journals, newspapers, etc.) and one was a fiction based comprehension (work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle). The questions were straightforward and based on an understanding of comprehension.
Current Affairs & General Knowledge Difficult 7 Comprehensions with 5 questions each i.e. 35 MCQs Comprehensions were based on Gandhi Peace Prize, Faith for Right Mechanism, Indo-China disengagement, Chabahar Day/INSTC, Ramsar Sites/World Wetland Day, Covid-19 Vaccines Maitri and World Water Day
Legal Reasoning Very Difficult 8 Comprehensions with 5 questions each i.e. 40 MCQs Passages were Law of Contracts, Hindu Marriage Act, Volenti Non fit Injuria, etc. The section was tricky and fairly difficult for most of the test-takers.
Logical Reasoning Moderate 6 Comprehensions with 5 questions each i.e. 30 MCQs 3 Comprehensions were based on Covid-19 and one each on the socio-economic status in schools, climate change impact on Asia, and India and its neighbors. Most of the questions were asked on inferences/deductions/conclusions.
Quantitative Techniques Moderate 15 MCQs Questions tested candidates’ knowledge and concepts on simplifications, profit, and loss, income and expenditures, percentages, ratios, averages, arithmetics, etc.
