How to Register for CLAT 2023 Counselling?
The counselling procedure of CLAT 2023 is expected to be done via an online centralized system. It is conducted separately for UG and PG programs. The entire process is done as per the CLAT Exam Dates created by the conducting authorities.
The stepwise procedure for final admissions to the 22 NLUs is as follows:
Step 1: Results Published
Once the results and merit lists are published to shortlist candidates for the final admissions, they are going to be available on the official website. On merit-cum-preference basis of CLAT 2023 scores, the first list for CLAT counselling will be declared after the publishing of results.
Step 2: Selection of NLUs
Shortlisted candidates are invited to register for their preferred NLUs through the official website. Candidates are required to select a minimum of five preferred colleges. No changes are allowed after the last date of submission. The selection must be done by taking into consideration the candidate's rank and marks against the seats. Candidates cannot update their college preferences and they are considered for only those NLUs that they have provided.
Step 3: Payment of Fees
After candidates have selected their preferred choices, they should pay the required fees of INR 50,000 to be provisionally selected. Candidates are advised to pay the fees online only, through the login on the official website. Only candidates who participate in the counselling will be considered for the seat allotment process.
Step 4: Seat Allotment Lists Published
After the candidates are registered, the seat allotment lists are published online through the official website. The candidates who have not been allotted a seat are provided a seat in the upcoming seat allotment lists.
Step 5: End of Admissions
The candidates who have been allotted a seat for their selected college have three options provided for them:
- Accept Seat: Candidates can choose to accept their choice of preferred NLU. In this case, candidates will not be considered for further seat allotments to any other NLUs of their preference.
- Choose for an Upgrade: Candidates can choose for an upgrade, during which they will be considered against any other vacancies in their preferred choices NLUs Candidates choosing for the upgrade will be required to pay the required amount as fees.
- Withdrawal from CLAT Seat Allotment: In this process, candidates forfeits their seat and will not be considered for future seat allotments either.
If candidates do not choose any one of the above options by the required date, will not be given admission.
