Ques. How is EEE at NIT Calicut?

● Top Answer By Devesh Saraf on 25 Apr 23

Ans. If you are considering studying at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, here are some important points to keep in mind: Academics: The curriculum was last updated in 2017, and there is very little emphasis on practical applications. The syllabus is designed to help you crack exams like GATE, but there may be pressure in some semesters and a lot of free time in others. Simulation software is not taught as part of the curriculum, so it's a good idea to attend workshops conducted by various clubs and student groups. Despite these challenges, many students secure admission in various IITs and IIMs every year. Faculty: While some of the faculty members are enthusiastic about teaching, others may not have a strong grasp of the subject or may not be interested in teaching. Because there is a shortage of permanent faculty in some departments, some courses (especially electives) may be taught by ad-hoc staff with little or no teaching experience. It's important to choose your electives wisely to ensure that you get the best education possible. Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-equipped, and there is usually no shortage of equipment in the labs. However, the UG labs may be crowded, and you may need to do experiments in groups of 3 or 4 students in hot and humid weather conditions. Placements: Many core companies like Bosch, Schneider Electric, ABB, Larsen, and Toubro visit the campus for placements. For electrical profile jobs, the packages may not be very high. For electronics profile jobs, companies like Texas Instruments and Tektronix hire students from EEE backgrounds. There are also many software and consultancy companies that hire EEE students. The average placement rate is usually around 70-75%. Going abroad: The department has a good record of students being accepted for MS programs in renowned universities abroad. If you have plans to go abroad for an MS, it's important to choose your electives carefully and select your project and guide wisely to get a strong recommendation.Read more

Ques. Which is better- IEM in Ms. Ramaiah or EEE in Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Raj on 17 Sept 21

Ans. After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies.  Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied.  The majority of EEE / ECE / other branches receive job offers from Infosys, HCL, Accenture, or Tech Mahindra. Parameters IEM at Ms. Ramaiah EEE at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering Tuition Fees INR 3.47 lakh  INR 10 lakh Placement Percentage 95% 70% Highest Package 13 LPA 15 LPA Average Package 7.6 LPA INR 8 LPA So, what is the point of learning core Electronics if all you have to do at the conclusion of your engineering degree is code? If you want to build a career, think seriously about the branch you select. Regardless of the institution you attend, I believe EEE is far superior to IEM. Pursue EEE only if you are truly passionate about the subject.Read more

Ques. What should I choose: Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Ankit Chaudhari on 21 Mar 23

Ans. To make an informed decision, it's crucial to understand that changing your choice based on the college you get into won't have much impact. You should acknowledge that Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus and Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal are two distinct engineering streams with different colleges, and both colleges are excellent in their own right. Your selection of the branch should entirely depend on your interest. If you are intrigued by electrical or electronic circuits or have been fascinated by electricity since childhood, EEE is the perfect fit for you. Conversely, if you have an interest in instruments or daily life gadgets that make our lives more comfortable, you should opt for E&I. Keep in mind that EEE focuses on circuit design and development, while E&I focuses on circuit implementation in industries or the real world. EEE is a core branch that concentrates on its domain, but E&I combines all other core branches such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, and even Computer Science. Both EEE and E&I offer excellent job prospects in the market. E&I graduates can work in core fields or software industries. There is a plethora of industries related to electrical and electronics, so EEE also offers ample job opportunities. Therefore, both branches are exceptional in their way. Choose the one that piques your interest and don't sacrifice your area of interest due to college selection.Read more

Ques. I got 362 marks in BITSAT. Which is better, BITS, Pilani electrical or BITS, Goa CS?

● Top Answer By Arnav Singh on 05 Aug 21

Ans. Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses. You generally have to compete with the top students on the Campus. Also, the EEE course material is not everyone's cup of tea. The EEE placements are quite good, though not for everyone. There are more high pointers in EEE than in any other branch. Thus good companies prefer to hire from among those. Placements might be better for CS at Goa, though in some other respects you might sell yourself short with this choice. Parameters&n BITS Goa BITS Pilani Tuition Fee 3.99 lakhs 4.45 lakhs Placement Average 94% 95% Average CTC INR 5 LPA INR 18.05 LPA Highest CTC INR 1.40 Cr INR 45 LPA So, if you want an easy life, better go for CS in Goa. Otherwise, choose EEE at Pilani.Read more

Ques. What is your review about NIT Trichy EEE branch?

● Top Answer By Savi Sharma on 19 Oct 23

Ans. B.Tech EEE is the most hectic course offered by NIT Trichy.  As a B.Tech EEE student, you’ll have classes and labs all day long. The faculty is experienced. Most of them are friendly and supportive, but you can only rely on self-study. You’ll have some of the brightest students as your peers. Try to befriend some of them as they will help you a lot in studies.  NIT Trichy is comparable to some of the old IITs, in terms of placements. Almost all the students of B.Tech EEE are successfully placed each year, and some of them even bag multiple offers. Those who don’t sit for placements, opt for higher studies in prestigious Indian and foreign universities.  NIT Trichy will offer you an awesome campus culture, and lifelong memories. Its EEE branch is hectic, but rewarding at the same time.Read more

Ques. Which is best in NIT Trichy, ECE or EEE?

● Top Answer By Ritu Yadav on 06 Sept 21

Ans. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) are two different branches of engineering. As some of my friends had these courses, I can share some details about them, later analyzing which you can make a decision.  EEE is concerned with electrical engineering, which encompasses circuits, transformers, electrostatics, magnetics, and other related topics. ECE is concerned with the electrical and communication aspects of the subject. Communication is learning a programming language, VLSI, and coding. After CSE, it is the most popular branch among students. As a matter of interest, both the ECE and EEE branches are fascinating and demanding.  Hence, one should choose either of the two based on his or her own personal interests. If you don't have a particular interest and want to choose based on placement opportunities, then ECE is recommended.  It has a scope that is even greater than CSE.  Because CSE is currently at its pinnacle and will almost certainly reach saturation in the next 4 to 5 years. So, at this time, it would be wiser to choose ECE. regardless of the college, whether it is NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, or any other NITs or IITs in India.Read more
