Muthayammal Engineering College BTech admission 2024 is done through the TNEA exam. The TNEA tentative exam 2024 dates have been announced. The start date of the online TNEA registration is May 4, 2024. The last date of registration for the same is June 4, 2024. Candidates can apply for TNEA through its official website.
Muthayammal Engineering College offers Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Research program. It also accepts Lateral entry for some courses. MEC has 13 dedicated departments offering various UG, PG and P.hD courses.
MEC, Rasipuram conducts its admission through the proper application process and as per University norms;
- Students who have passed 10+2 in PCM from a recognized Board are eligible to apply for BE and B. Tech programs.
- The admission to BE, B.Arch, and B.Tech program are done through a counseling process through TNEA, which is conducted by Anna University.
- For ME program, candidates who have completed BE or B. Tech course in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks are eligible to apply for admission.
- The minimum eligibility criterion for admission to MCA and MBA program is that the candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree in the respective discipline from any recognized University pattern with at least 50% marks.
- In order to get admission to PG and UG programs, candidates must apply online for TANCET and TNEA respectively.
- Ph.D. admissions are offered on the basis of UGC-NET/JRF/SET/GATE scores followed by an interview for direct admission. Students who do not fulfill the given criteria are called for an internal entrance test followed by a personal interview, based on their scores in M.E/M.Tech.
Muthayammal Engineering College was established in 2000 affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Muthayammal Engineering College (MEC) located in Rasipuram of Tamil Nadu is Autonomous University granted by University Grant Commission (UGC) from year 2016-17.
It has a dedicated Placement and Training Cell which help student get appropriate training from reputed organizations and get placed into reputed companies.
In 2019 placement more than 10 companies participated in recruitment with more than 34 core companies .With more than 500 students being placed across various streams the highest package offered was INR 10 Lakhs per Annum and average package being INR 3.4 Lakhs per Annum .From 2019 batch 50 students were placed into Wipro technologies, 18 in Tata consultancy Services (TCS), 49 into Cognizant.

MEC BE/B.Tech Eligibility Criteria:
- BE/B.Tech: The candidate must be pass Higher Secondary or 10+2 pattern or its equivalent with minimum eligibility percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together.
- Lateral entry in BE/B.Tech: Candidate must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Mathematics or Diploma Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering from a recognized university/ institute.
- Applications of the candidate applying for the course and are found ineligible will be cancelled.
MEC BE/B.Tech Selection Process:
- First a candidate must check for the eligibility criteria.
- If a candidate is eligible to apply for the admission into the course applies for the TNEA which is state level entrance exam conducted by Anna University every year.
- After filling the application form for TNEA appear for the entrance examination on the specified date.
- After the result is declared the Merit Cut-Offs are declared.
- If the candidate is under the Merit they will be called for counselling.
- If the candidate has applied for the college they are under merit they can now pay the fees to the college and get admission.
