About Maitreyi College

Maitreyi College is an all-women’s college and one of the affiliated colleges of the University of Delhi established in 1967 in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Maitreyi College comes under the South Campus of DU. It is accredited by NAAC A ++ Grade. It carries the accolade of being a star college for its Science Departments by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Maitreyi College offers 31 UG courses and 3 PG courses in Arts, Commerce and Science in various specialisations with a highly qualified and experienced faculty. The admission to both UG and PG courses is carried out on the basis of the candidate’s performance in CUET. After qualifying in the entrance exam, candidates have to appear in the centralized DU CSAS process for seat allocation.

Maitreyi College has achieved the 36th position in India among private and government colleges according to the surveys conducted by the NIRF in the year 2023. There are 17 departments under the institute. The campus of Maitreyi College is huge and surrounded by lush greenery. Maitreyi College Admission 

Maitreyi College admission to the UG and PG courses is based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. The admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then appearing in the CSAS seat allotment. Registrations for admission at the college start after CUET result declarations. Candidates must select Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose their college and course preferences. Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Examination

Step 3: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs. Step 4: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Maitreyi College Campus

Maitreyi College has a beautiful campus surrounded by greenery. The campus of the institute is known for its gardens. The entire campus is wifi enabled.   • Library: The Maitreyi College has a huge library which consists of a rich stock of 99,000 books and a seating capacity of 150 readers at a time. The library is fully computerised having an internet room with 20 computers. It has subscriptions to a wide range of print journals, periodicals, national and international magazines, and 23 leading national newspapers.
  • Enabling Unit: This unit was established for differently abled students and faculty of the college. This unit consists of numerous computers and notebooks with necessary software like NVDA, Hindi OCR, Lax Camera etc. that enables visually impaired users to carry out academic tasks independently. 
  • Sports Facilities: Maitreyi College offers various indoor and outdoor sports facilities like a basketball court, football field, baseball field, etc. A multipurpose hall serves as an indoor sports hub accommodating activities such as Judo, Yoga, Powerlifting, and Chess. This spacious and well-ventilated hall is equipped with a synthetic mat suitable for Judo and Wrestling.
  • Other Facilities: The other main facilities of the college include a photocopy shop, canteen and bookshop for providing all these things at subsidized rates to the students. It also has a Mother Diary Kiosk and Girls Common Room.​

Admission:

I applied for two more colleges in my hometown but they were not good as my maitreyi college. Basically we can say the main reasons for choosing this college are Academic programs, Research opportunities, campus life, Ranking etc. Overall everything was wonderful when comparing to the other two colleges I applied. I didn't applied any other college where I got rejection. As I already mentioned about the colleges I applied I got selected in both but didn't want to continue in them so choose maitreyi college. So basically admission process was so easy and mine was based on cut off. I secured good marks in my Senior Secondary class so i got admission easily. And after that we have to submit our documents online on official mail of college. After 10 days official process are completed and orientation and classes started. Now everything is change you have to clear CUET entrance exam and then you have to go for counselling and you got selected and all these. But I can surely say mine was so easy.
