Pros Campus: The campus is in the vicinity of all the dynamic places in Gurgaon like a cyber hub, sec 29, and golf course road. However, inside the campus, the ambiance is exactly different and serene. The infrastructure and campus are extremely beautiful, lush green, and well-built to give you a fairly dreamy experience. No reservation: Unlike other B Schools, MDI Gurgaon does not reserve seats for minorities or any other groups. So the entire batch is usually 98 percentilers ensuring you avail the best peer learning experience. Clubs: MDI Gurgaon has the usual clubs as well as the extraordinary ones like Unnati and Illumina Illumina is a disguised market research event, wherein a Diwali mela is organized on the campus. Marketing companies give out projects for market research to students who then create games to do research. Unnati is a fund operated by the students of MDI. Alums and students invest in it. Faculty: The faculty keeps changing or retiring but the most permanent faculty is Prof. Sanjay Bakshi, who also runs a company called Value Quest. Placements: The placements are definitely not at or with IIM ABC but are at level with IIM IKL or FMS. Exchange program: The exchange program is one of the best in the country as almost one-third of the batch gets to visit Europe and get amazing exposure. Alumni: MDI has its alumni in top positions in the corporate world as well as the startup world. Some of them include Paperboat, Instamojo, Cashify, etc. Some of the alums are in top positions like Amit Boni, who is the head of Motorola India. Cons Weak alumni base: The alumni meets are just official meet-ups not many are interested to attend. Only the recent batches meet and no one is interested in strengthening the network. However, some students tend to party all night and even take a long drive to Murthal, a famous dhaba spot around two hours away, returning as late as 5 am. MDI boasts a comparatively high number of 75 full-time faculty members, many of whom reside on campus. Late-night snacking options available to you as a student include the canteens run by SharmaJi, JhaJi, and Bhandari Bhaiyya, which offer delicious, butter-laden paranthas and Maggie. However, it's important to watch your diet to avoid weight gain. MDI Gurgaon has three hostels, each with a different reputation. The most popular one is Kshitij, which is known as the 'hotel.' If you work equally hard at either campus and all other operational factors are constant, you will likely end up in a similar position whether you choose MDI or I or K. However, as mentioned before, IIML still has the edge and requires more effort if you're in the finance or consulting field. If you're interested in MDI, it's worth noting that recent placement reports show more and more prestigious finance and consulting companies are visiting the campus. This has helped MDI deliver well-rounded placements. So, if you're willing to put in the work, MDI could be a good option for you.

MDI Gurgaon campus is spread across 35 acres of land. The classrooms of MDI Gurgaon are well-equipped with all the modern facilities. The campus at MDI Gurgaon comprises hostels, IT infrastructure, library and other facilities. MDI Gurgaon campus is situated near the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airport is just 12 km away from the campus.

MDI Gurgaon provides accommodation to its students on a twin-sharing basis in Chaitanya, Change Masters and Takshashila hostels. It also has a hostel named Kshitij where rooms are available on a twin-sharing / four-sharing basis. There are separate hostel blocks for the girl students known as Oddessy (Twin-sharing) and Kaveri (twin / triple-sharing). Hostel rooms are provided with a bed, a study table, a chair, a cupboard and the usual fixtures. The participants of the Management Development Programmes are allotted to the Parthenon and Nalanda hostels. The rooms of these hostels are air-conditioned and fully furnished.

MDI Gurgaon Scholarship

MDI Gurgaon offers different types of scholarships to its students. The FPM scholarship of INR 60,000 per month is provided for a maximum duration of 4 and 3 years to non-MBA and MBA students respectively. MDI Gurgaon Merit cum Means Scholarship is granted to a total of 10 students with a 50% waiver of tuition fees. This scholarship is available for the students enrolled in the full-time 2-year program which includes the PGDM/PGDM- HRM/PGDM-IB courses at MDI Gurgaon. The annual family income must be up to INR 8,00,000 to avail of the MDI Gurgaon Merit cum Means Scholarship.

The aspiring candidates of the MDI Gurgaon Merit cum Means scholarship have to fulfill the below-mentioned criteria for securing this scholarship.

For the continuation and renewal of this scholarship in the subsequent year, a candidate must maintain at least 6 CGPA.

I took the CAT exam in November 2021 and scored 94.49 percentile. I received a shortlist from MDI around mid-February. The applications opened before CAT and fees were around 1000. The PI date I had was for 2nd April 2022. An improvement I would have liked to see is proper and clear communication of dates and prior dissemination of information.

There are number of scholarships students can avail while they study at MDI:

MDI offers merit-cum-means Scholarship scheme for the meritorious students to pursue PGDM courses at MDI Gurgaon belonging to economically weaker Sections (EWS). It is envisaged to provide total number of 10 merit cum means scholarships (50% waiver of tuition fees) every year to the students pursuing two-year full time PGDM/PGDM-HRM/PGDM-IB at MDI Gurgaon.
O.P. Jindal scholarship of INR 1,50,000 for second year students.
At the end of the second year, MDI awards five merit scholarships of INR 10, 000/- each to the top five students.
Poonam Gyanchandani Memorial Scholarship to be awarded by RSPL Welfare Fund @ Rs. 5.00 Lacs each to 7 students of PGDM on the basis of Merit cum Means.

International Scholarships
Several international scholarships are available for MDI students going on the exchange programme to select partner institutions, e.g Sciences Po Lille, University or Maribor, NUCB Business School, Japan.
