VVIT Admission 2024: Courses, Fees, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

The institute offers B.Tech course in six specializations. Candidates who have passed HSC/ 10+2 or its equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Mathematics (as compulsory subjects) and Chemistry (as an optional subject) from the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh and have qualified AP EAMCET examination conducted by the Government of AP are considered eligible for admission to B.Tech course.

Candidates are selected for admission to B.Tech course under two categories- Category A (Convener Quota) and Category-B (Management Quota). Applicants who have qualified AP EAMCET examination are given admission for 70% of the total seats in the B.Tech course on the basis of their merit. The remaining 30% of the seats are filled under the Management quota through the newspaper advertisement. Candidates are given admission on the basis of their eligibility and marks in HSC/ 10+2.

AP EAMCET is Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test conducted on the behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Important points:

• Applicants of Andhra Pradesh are given preference and reservation during the admission procedure.
• Candidates should have completed 16 years of age by December 31, 2021.

VVIT offers an M.Tech course in six specializations and candidates who hold a BE/ B.Tech Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/ institute are considered eligible. Applicants who have AMIE/ AMIETE BE/ B.Tech in the concerned discipline recognized by UPSC are also eligible.

Admission is given under two categories i.e. Category-A (under Convener quota) and Category-B (under Management quota). 70% of the total available seat is filled under the Convener Quota and 30% is filled under the Management Quota. Admission under the Convener Quota is given on the basis of the candidates’ qualification and valid GATE score and AP-PGECET rank.

Admission under the Management Quota is given on the basis of candidates’ marks in graduation. 15% of the seats under the management quota is reserved for NRI candidates who have passed the qualifying examination with minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA on the scale of 10. Sponsored candidates are admitted on the basis of leftover seats on the basis of merit.

AP Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) is a state level test conducted by Andhra University on the behalf of APSCHE.

Important points:

• Under the Management Quota, candidates are given admission against vacant seats on the basis of their merit and is given to only those who have secured minimum 60% of marks in the qualifying examination.
• Under the Convener Quota, admission to the sponsored candidates is given on the basis of the recommendation of their sponsoring agency.
• There are only 2 seats reserved for the sponsored candidates in each specialization and 5 in each department under the Convener Quota. The seats are supernumerary.
• The sponsoring agency should certify that the candidate will be permitted to pursue M.Tech.
• It is mandatory for the applicants to be the permanent employee with the sponsoring agency for at least 2 years.
• The sponsoring agency should be a Government establishment or a public/ private undertaking.
• Candidates must satisfy local/ non-local eligibility criteria as prescribed by the AP Educational Institutions Order 1974.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one compulsory subject from a recognized university/ college with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. It is mandatory for the candidate to qualify AP-ICET (Integrated Common Entrance Test) conducted for admission to MCA and MBA by Shri Venkateswara University on the behalf of APSCHE.

Admission of the candidates is done on the basis of merit secured in AP ICET. The institute admits candidates for 70% of the total seats based on the AP ICET rank and for rest 30%, admission is done under the management quota.

AP Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is a state level common entrance test for 150 minutes with 200 MCQs of 1 mark each with 3 sections.

Key points:

• Applicants must fulfill the local/ non-local eligibility criteria as stated in the AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order 1974.
• It is mandatory for the applicants to appear in AP ICET if they want admission under Convener quota.
• Candidates who are seeking admission under the Management Quota, are exempted from appearing in AP ICET.
