Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology (CIMAT) an Autonomous Institution was established in 1996, by Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust, a well-known Charitable Trust in Coimbatore. CIMAT was Conferred Autonomous Status by UGC & Bharathiar University from the academic year 2010 - 2011. 

The institute exclusively offers post-graduate programs in Business Administration (MBA) and in Computer Applications (MCA). The Institution has a state of the art library with ample reference material covering wide topics. A separate communication cell is established to improve the communication skill of students.

CIMAT Admission

Candidates seeking admission in Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology are required to appear for CAT/ TANCET/ UGC-NET examinations for admission in MBA/ MCA/ M.Phil. Ph.D courses. The candidates must register themselves with the respective official websites of these entrance examinations to obtain admit cards.

While the institute conducts an offline application process, the candidates must follow the below mentioned steps to apply for admission.

Application process

Step 1: Candidates can either get the prospectus manually by visiting the institute admission office or request the same by post by sending a Demand Draft of INR 500 in favour of ‘Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology’, payable at Coimbatore.

Step 2: Fill the application form careful and affix the recent passport sized photographs on the designated places in the form.

Along with the completed applications, candidates can attach the following documents:

1. Academic documents (mark sheets and passing certificates)
2. CAT/ TANCET/ UGC-NET Admit Card and Score Card
3. Migration Certificate
4. Caste Certificate, if applicable

CIMAT Facilities

Library

Library is the treasure house open for academicians and students. The library was started with an initial stock of 2050 books in 1999 and now has more than 16,300 volumes of books on Management and computer Science subjects with on-line referential access. Utmost care is taken in developing resources for both departments. Our Library Subscribes to more than 110 International and National Periodicals and has a good collection of Latest CDs & Floppies on various fields. Most of the Library functions such as issue, return, reservation and searching books have been automated.

Hostel

CIMAT hostel facilities ensure all round and balanced development of Student personality with hygienic living conditions and modern amenities which takes care of all aspects of growth and development needs of its Students. Boys hostel and Girls hostels are located Within the campus itself so it makes easy access. A separate mess hall is functioning for the hostels. The hostels are under the direct control of Secretary, Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust. He interprets and enforces the rules, assisted by the chief warden i.e. the principal, the warden and the deputy warden.

Canteen

A Cafeteria has been located near and easily accessible from the academic and administration wings. To ensure total well - being of students, the college provides First Aid Medical Facilities within the campus. Special facilities are also provided at the time of emergency .24 Hrs ambulance facility is also available in the campus.

The college bus starts from Gandhipuram Bus stand at 7:45 am (on all working days) and depart back from the college at 4.45 pm.
