Vemu Institute of Technology, established in the year 2008, is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapuramu (JNTUA). Ques. What is the difference between B Tech and B Tech Lateral Courses?
Ans. While B Tech is a 4-year program, B Tech Lateral is a 3-year program. In the latter, a student may take admission to the 2nd year directly. To be eligible for this course, one has to be a diploma holder and pass the 10th standard board examination with at least 50% marks (or 45% marks, in case of SC/ ST candidates). To take admission to the B Tech program, one needs to pass 10+2 with at least 50% marks in the prescribed group subjects (relaxation of 10% in case of SC/ST candidates), and sit for the AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test).
