Siddaganga Institute of Technology Admission 2024: Courses, Dates, Eligibility, Cut Off

Siddaganga Institute of Technology offers undergraduate level engineering courses in up to twelve disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is passing 10+2 in science stream with English as a subject, and obtaining a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer.

Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks obtained in Karnataka CET (KCET) and counselling conducted by DTE Karnataka.

Key Points for Admission:

• 25% of the total seats are reserved for candidates applying under management quota.
• Minimum percentile of marks to be secured in 10+2 is relaxed for SC/ST candidates by 5%.
• All candidates must apply through KCET and its respective counselling only.
• For outside Karnataka candidates COMEDK score is acceptable. 

SIT offers MBA, MCA, and 13 M.Tech programs. Candidates seeking admission to PG courses in SIT can apply through PGCET. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is graduation in the relevant or allied discipline with minimum 50% marks. M.Tech candidates can also apply through a valid GATE score in the relevant field.

Application process for PGCET include filling the online application form on KEA website and online payment of application fees. Candidates are also required to register for counselling online and attend the same on the designated dates. The process of application is same for all PG programs offered by SIT.

Key Points for Admission:

• M. Tech candidates with a valid GATE score do not require to appear for PGCET.
• First preference is given to GATE candidates following which remnant vacant seats are filled through PGCET.
• SC/ST candidates need to score only 45% in graduation.
• M.Sc. candidates are also eligible to apply for M.Tech programs. 

The institute offers Ph.D. programs to eligible candidates in up to 10 engineering disciplines, biotechnology and management subjects. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a master’s degree in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates applying for Ph.D. offered by SIT are selected through institute entrance test and personal interview conducted on institute level.

Aspiring candidates may apply directly through the institute’s admission cell by collection a copy of the application form from the designated office. Payment of application fees can be made in cash or via demand draft addressed to “Siddaganga Institute of Technology” payable at Tumkur, Karnataka.

Key Points for Admission:

• Ph.D. engineering candidates can also apply with a valid GATE score as applicable.
• Sponsored candidates are not eligible for scholarship programs.
• Payment of Ph.D. Application fee can also be made online through the institute website.
• Karnataka state candidates are given first preference.
