Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology offers four-year, full-time, B.Tech program in 4 specializations. The Institute is allotted an intake of 60 seats per course. The college also provides provision for admission through the second-year lateral-entry program.

The applicant seeking admission for the B.Tech courses should have passed 10+2 Examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as an optional subject. Candidate with 10th and 10+2 examination and passed Diploma in Engineering are also eligible to apply. Candidate who has passed two-year Certificate course from SLIET are also eligible to apply.  For the lateral Entry program, the candidate should be a Diploma holder in relevant field.

Admission for B.Tech courses is based on the applicant’s score in JEE Main conducted by Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE). B.Tech admission is conducted through the IK Gujaral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) online counselling process. For lateral-entry, admission is done through the counselling process conducted by the Punjab Technical University, based on their merit obtained in the last qualifying examination.

• The candidate seeking admission should have appeared in JEE Main for 85% quota (Punjab State) / JEE-Main for 15% quota (other states).
• The candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examinations or waiting for the JEE-Main results can also apply provisionally.

Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology offers Non-AICTE approved courses that are three-year, full-time B.Com, BBA and BCA programs.

As a basic eligibility to apply for the B.Com, BBA and BCA course, the student should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board or an equivalent accepted by the University. Admission for B.Com, BBA and BCA course is based on the merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

• Diploma holders in any field from a recognized board from the state of Punjab can apply for BBA/BCA courses.

Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology offers M.Tech (Mechanical Engineering), M.Sc. (Mathematics) and MBA courses as a part of PG program.

The basic eligibility for the candidates to apply for the M.Tech course is a B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Manufacturing Engineering./ Welding Engineering/ Material Science Engineering. / Metallurgy Engineering with minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University. The candidates seeking admission for MBA course should have a minimum three-year Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University. For M.Sc. course, candidate should have completed BA/B.Sc. with minimum 50% aggregate, with Honours in Mathematics or Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Admission to the M.Sc. (Mathematics) program is based on the merit obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Admission to the M.Tech program is conducted through GATE. For MBA, candidates are selected on the basis of CMAT.

• There is no stipulated age limit for candidates to attend CMAT and GATE entrance examination.
• International candidates with Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in the related engineering or science stream can apply for GATE.
