• B.Tech. courses have provision of 20% lateral entry at the second year level from WB Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET).
• The M.C.A. students are being admitted through WB MCA Joint Entrance Examination (JECA).
• The institute takes admission to M.Tech courses by GATE examination and PGET exam conducted by WBUT.

KGEC, Nadia offers UG courses in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology.

The undergraduate students (B.Tech.) of this college are admitted from the WB Joint Entrance Examination (WB-JEE). 

Candidates must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board with individually pass in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and must have a valid score card of WBJEE. 

Candidates will be invited for counselling procedure as per ranks secured by them. The WBJEE Counselling will start in the month of June. Counselling schedule will be published on the official website of the authority. 

B.Tech. courses have provision of 20% lateral entry at the second year level from WB Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET). JELET Entrance Examination for admission into the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of four years Bachelor Degree Courses in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy.

Candidates will be called for respective counselling procedure as per their rank obtained in the merit list.

How to Apply for UG in KGEC?

• Visit the official website and click on the registration button. 
• Enter the personal details including phone number and Email ID. A registration number will be received with a password at the Email ID. 
• Click on the link which will lead to the application form. Enter the personal and academic details
• Upload the passport size photograph (size: 3 to 300 kb) with signature (3 to 30 kb). 
• Pay the application fee online and submit the application fee. For General candidates, the application fee is INR 700/- for General, EWS category and INR 500/- for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B candidates
• Retain the hard copy print of the submitted application form

After candidates get their rank cards after WBJEE/WBJELET examination they need to participate in the respective counseling procedures

Admission in M.Tech courses of this institution is done on the basis valid GATE Score card, if the GATE qualified candidates are not available then admission is done based on the marks obtained in the PGET examination.

• If the GATE qualified candidates are not available then admission is done based on the marks obtained in the PGET examination.
• Candidates will be called for counselling procedure as per their rank obtained in the merit list.
• There is a relaxation of 5% marks in the above requirement in case of SC, ST, OBC category candidates.

Kalyani Government Engineering College offers admission to the MCA program through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (JECA) in various institutions in West Bengal.

Candidate must have passed:

• 3-years Bachelor degree program from UGC recognized University with at least 60% in Honours/Aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates) or 
• Completed BCA from any AICTE recognised University/Institute with 60% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

Mathematics should be a compulsory subject at the graduation level. 

Candidates must also have at least 60% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) throughout the academic career with Mathematics at each level.

The Institute follows the reservation policy of the West Bengal Government and provides relaxations to the reserved category candidates. 35% of seats are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC (22% SC, 6% ST, 7% for OBC A & B).

• 10% of the students are awarded full free scholarships.

Criteria for Fee Waivers/Scholarship:

• For Full Free Scholarship & Half Free Scholarship students, the family income should not exceed Rs.2.5 Lakhs per annum.
• Scholarship for backward classes, the family income should not exceed Rs. 90,000/- per annum.
• For other organizations insist on scholarships, as per organizational rules.
