University of Northern British Columbia International Students Admission

UNBC welcomes applications for admission from qualified students from other countries. International secondary and post-secondary credentials are considered. International students must meet the equivalent of the criteria outlined for High School Admission and University Transfer in British Columbia. Admission is based on the comparison of standards for credentials and grading in the country of origin. Applicants whose first language is not English must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency in English.

Application Requirements

1. The Indian applicants need to have their All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE), or
2. Indian School Certificate (CICSE)

Application with a general certificate of education (GCE) or equivalent

For admission from a GCE system (or equivalent)

1. A minimum of two advanced (A) level subjects and
2. 3 ordinary (O) level subjects must be completed with an overall grade point average of C or higher
3. A level subjects presented for admission must have a grade of at least C
4. Students may substitute two advanced subsidiary level (AS) subjects from one A level subject.

UNBC English Language Requirements

As English is the staple and primary language for this University, they expect students to have a decent level of communication.

• Firstly, for entry into a Master's Degree, the student must have completed both bachelor’s (3 years) degree and masters OR a bachelor’s degree requiring four years of study.
• The student should be cleared by first class/first division or 8 on a 10 point scale.
