PhD in International Management and Organization at the University of Victoria is offered as a 4-years program by the Sardul S. Gill Graduate School at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business.
The University of Victoria also ranked 2nd in Maclean’s top Canadian Comprehensive Universities 2019.
Their PhD program focuses on the areas of strategy, organizational behavior, organizational theory, human resources and cross-cultural management, and business and sustainability, from an international perspective.
Their goal is to develop candidates with an integrated perspective on management to address complex global issues. Their emphasis is on International Business, one of our school’s core areas of specialization.
Students will spend the first two years on formal coursework and research projects, and the last two years writing and defending their dissertation.
The PhD program consists of a minimum of 39 units.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or Sociology, or other research-focused program or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
A grade point average of 5.0/9.0 (B average) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete a bachelor’s and master's degree in Business Administration, Economics or Sociology, or other research-focused program or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
