It is in a city that I have visited and wanted to live in and it is a very strong research school. I only applied to this school but I applied to several different programs within the school. I performed well academically in high school so I appreciate the challenge of some of the courses at this school.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is a bit more difficult than I expected but it is very interesting.
Exams
This program feeds into all the graduate programs that I'm considering (Optometry, forensic science, pharmacy). I needed a minimum of 70% in introductory chemistry and biology to take this program, and I enjoyed and did well in both of those courses. I wanted to choose a program that I was interested in and that also offered a challenge.
Placement
I don't have very much experience with job placements at this school. I have heard of seminars and meetings related to job opportunities but I haven't attended any. I'm unsure of the average pay and percentage of students getting placed.
Internship
Yes. I haven't applied for any, but the application is online and seems easy. Most on-campus jobs are weekends and evenings and work around classes well. They have jobs for everyone, including sports-related jobs and academic-related jobs.
Events
The college celebrates many holiday and events for all different cultures.
Fees
My tuition is about $9000 a year. I got a government student loan and was not awarded any scholarships as I am a transfer student. The school does offer bursaries that students can apply for once every semester and they can help offset some costs. They are given out based on financial need. I applied for one this semester.
Scholarship
I got a government student loan and applied for a bursary from the school online.
Examination Structure
The exam structure is good. They are usually a fair length and don't take too much time.
Faculty
The faculty that I have dealt with have all been friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they have multiple teaching assistants for larger classes so all students can get help if needed.
Hostel
I applied to live on campus but was denied because they were full. So instead, I am renting a room in a house. It was difficult finding a place to live since it is 5 hours away from my hometown. However, living off campus is much cheaper than residence.
