Carleton University has a separate Data Science Lab and they specialize in Data Science. I can choose courses from either Carleton or Ottawa and thus have the advantage of studying at another branded university. I could shape my master's curriculum. I can study whatever I want. This is what I studied about ML in my Master's. Carleton has an underground tunnel to keep you warm while you go to university in the winter. They have well-knowledgeable faculty. They cover more material and the exams are tougher but you will benefit from learning many things. Carleton is one of the best institutions if you want to tailor your master's to your interests. You have the option of taking courses outside your department. I took two courses outside my department.
Course Curriculum :
The syllabus is well structured. You can choose to take courses at either Carleton or Utah. You can choose courses from outside your department. Each course has more informative content and you can learn a lot.
Exams :
IELTS 6.5 minimum, Good SOP & LOR, Good GPA in graduation. Give IELTS after good preparation. The higher the IELTS score, the higher your chances of application. Strong SOP is necessary. Please review it. There should be no grammar mistakes in the SOP. Many applicants get rejected due to poor SOP. It doesn't matter whether you use simple English or advanced English words. Your SOP should tell them why you are choosing and what you want to learn.
Placement :
It all depends on your skill. To be honest, I am still looking for a job. Jobs are much slower to find in Canada than in the US. They provide you with quick jobs if you have cooperative. I think the system is a bit biased. Anyway since I have 3 years of experience I am confident that I will cross it soon.
Internship :
No, it's guaranteed if you have a co-op internship. Unfortunately, there was no co-operation in my course.
Events :
Carlton is growing at a rapid pace with an expanded gym, renovated library, and a new parking garage under construction. The architecture of the modern buildings situated between the canal and the Rideau River makes it art of wood, glass and concrete.
Fees :
20000 CAD. But I only paid 15000 CAD because I had good grades and completed my masters in 3 terms.
Scholarship :
No, but you can opt for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. The website of each university will have ample details about all the scholarships offered. Read it completely and apply before the deadline.
Faculty :
The faculty is there to help every student. More than 2 faculties are present for a particular course. You will be assigned only one faculty that you choose from the available options for one term. But you can also match other faculties if you want to learn something.
Hostel :
I rented a house in Ottawa. You can find lots of places to rent in Canada. Renting a place is better than staying at the university. You will save a lot.
