The supervisor fit my project the best. The department also had many other scholars who were specialists in the field that I wanted to study. I also wanted to try living and studying in a new city. Ottawa seemed like a good choice.
Course Curriculum
It could be reworked a little. I think that the courses should not be a full year but rather a half year. Also, if you pass the language requirement then you shouldn't have to take classes throughout the year still.
Fees
Some of the fees for the graduate student associations are not needed and should be optional. For example, the gym facilities, If I don't have time to use them then why should I pay for them.
Examination Structure
Exams are not required for classes. The only exams that need to be written are language requirements. But in those cases not getting the exam schedule until two months into the semester is very inconvenient.
Faculty
The faculty is extremely willing to help the students but occasionally the students need to wait for an answer. I find that different faculty members also have different teaching styles.
