First heard about Swinburne from word of mouth, preparing students to be job-ready, wide connections to industry. I also have few distant family members that are now alumni of Swinburne and they have great experience. Besides, Swinburne have a pretty impressive rank in my area of study.

Course Curriculum

9

I think it is very connected with the industry. Lots of hands-on activities and engaging students with the world too. The downside of this is probably sometimes it could be too much to absorb at the same time and everything goes so fast so without excellent time management it could be daunting.

Exams

I took IELTS test in late 2016 with overall score of 6.5. I completed the test prior to study in RMIT as part of the requirements.

Placement

9

Yeah, I know that Swinburne has range of opportunities for their students regarding placements and career. And they regularly do workshops open for us to attend. They have career advisor that could help with any problems/issues/questions we might have.

Internship

The University do provide Internship but I haven't involved in any of this yet. I'm planning to do so next semester. So far, I've seen some advertising and newsletter regarding internship offered by my uni, giving us tips to prepare the best resume and to nail the interview, etc. I feel very positive about this opportunity my uni provide to their students and will definitely submit my interest.

Events

8

Swinburne has lots of events going throughout the semester. Giving us, students, so much to explore and experience, meeting new people, having fun activities, developing our social skills too! I think it is awesome.

Fees

To be frank, I think fees for international students is to frowned upon. It's quite high and for other living expense and bills to pay, not forgetting transportation expenses. I appreciate the census date given by my uni, it helps me to pay in later date as simple as writing a letter

Examination Structure

Exam always runs 1-2 weeks before end of semester period. For design students like me, we don't normally have exams, but instead, we use that exam period for major projects depending on the unit. I think it?s more relevant

Faculty

10

I feel lucky to be a current student in my college because the academics team are highly educated people and they are passing on their knowledge whole-heartedly and giving us lots of valuable skills.

Hostel

7

First-year, it's tough cause I have bare knowledge about finding accommodation, how, where, etc. not knowing what's on the market. Now I live in a suburb not far from my uni, save lots of living cost compared to when I first came in.
