Swinburne Animation

JS
4.3 /10

I decided to choose the Swinburne University of Technology due to its close proximity to my place of stay during my study period. Additionally, the course content of Bachelor of Animation appealed to me. It was also offering a decent scholarship (Vice Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship) which would allow me to focus on my studies more intensely.

Course Curriculum :

In my opinion, the Course Curriculum could definitely be improved to focus more on single disciplines rather than trying to be a generalist.

Exams :

As I was applying directly from high school, year 12, I was applying under the ATAR scheme. The minimum required ATAR for this course was 65. There were no specific examinations required to enter the course nor were there any prerequisites of required subjects to have been completed in year 12.

Fees :

Regarding international applicants, I am not particularly understanding of this situation as I am a domestic student. The scheme set up for domestic students is the Commonwealth HECS loan where students pay off fees as part of their tax when they earn over a certain amount after they have graduated. Scholarship I received was Vice Chancellor's Excellence Scholarship which offers $5000 a year for each full year of study.

Scholarship :

The scholarship I receive was automatically applied for.

Examination Structure :

My course does not have examinations.

Faculty :

The Faculty of my College (Faculty of Health, Arts and Design) varies from discipline to discipline. For my specific course (Bachelor of Animation) there are about 3 or 4 teachers for 150 students. Some have PhDs and many are sessional lecturers.
