As a leader, teacher, and collaborator the school librarian develops, promotes, and implements a program that engages students as they become effective lifelong users and creators of ideas and information. The M.S. degree builds upon your prior educational coursework and will support your growth as an educator:
- Learn how to acquire, evaluate, create, and use information and the most current technologies needed for these processes
- Improve your teaching, whether it be a k-20 classroom, library, or in the military or corporate training
- Become a leader in your school and be prepared to take on roles such as elementary, middle or high school librarians or be a district librarian leader

With a Master of Science in Library Science and Information Services degree, you will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:
- Be an effective teacher who demonstrate knowledge of learners and learning and who can model and promote collaborative planning, instruction in multiple literacies, and inquiry-based learning, enabling members of the learning community to become effective users and creators of ideas and information
- Promote reading for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment

- Advocate for dynamic school library programs and positive learning environments that focus on student learning and achievement by collaborating and connecting with teachers, administrators, librarians, and the community
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate school library programs, resources, and services in support of the mission of the library program within the school according to the ethics and principles of library science, education, management, and administration

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- A bachelors degree of which is equivalent of a degree in US
- Students need to submit the official transcripts of previous education to the office and upload unofficial trasncripts on the portal
- A GPA of 2.50 is required in undergraduate degree
- Submit three reference forms
- Submit an essay describing why you want to join the course and how the degree will help you in your goals
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 79 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- UCM English proficiency exam: minimum 79 required
