With a strong emphasis on sport performance, the program engages you in applied research which prepares you for employment opportunities as strength and conditioning coaches, as sport science research assistants, and at sport development centers. Our partnership with UCM Athletics allows ?hands-on? interaction with NCAA College athletes in their pursuit of performance excellence. Additionally, the program benefits students interested in seeking a Ph.D. or doing original research in exercise science.
This program is designed to prepare students for careers in areas associated with physical activity and sports. The student has a choice of area specialization from one of the following options: Sports Management, Exercise Science, or Pedagogy (Teaching Physical Education).

Student Learning Outcomes Per Option
Sport Management:
- Explain the major theories and concepts of the Sports Management discipline.
- Apply sports management and leadership principles to various sports organizations.
- Apply promotion and public relation strategies.
- Analyze and conduct sport marketing research.
- Analyze financial management in sport industry and create successful strategies for a sport enterprise.
- Analyze case law in the sport industry and create legal strategies for successful sport enterprise.
- Use graduate level theories and concepts to demonstrate organizational, managerial, and administrative skills.
Exercise Science:
- Apply Exercise principles with diverse populations in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrate and apply skills and knowledge of Exercise Science through laboratories, internships, and other appropriate programs.
Pedagogy:
- Advance content and pedagogical knowledge for improved professional practice.
- Enhance instructional effectiveness in Physical Education
- Continue professional development in the field of Physical Education K-12

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- A bachelors degree of which is equivalent of a degree in US
- Students need to submit the official transcripts of previous education to the office and upload unofficial trasncripts on the portal
- A GPA of 2.75 is required in undergraduate degree or a GPA of 3.00 is required on 9 semester hours
- Applicants with GPA lower than 2.75 require to submit statement of purpose or two letters of recommendations
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 87 in IBT; 565 on PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- UCM English proficiency exam: minimum 79 required
