All students in the Music Composition major at Baylor University desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must?audition.? Music faculty review auditions for acceptance into each music degree program.
The Composition program has a rigorous and broad curriculum. Graduates are well equipped to compose, perform, and teach. Many graduates also continue their education through graduate school.
The Bachelor of Music Education degree requires ensemble participation each semester. The Music School offers a variety of ensemble opportunities.? These include?Band,?Choir,?Early Music Ensemble,?Handbells,?Jazz,?Opera Theater,?Orchestra?and?Chamber Music. The School of Music presents more than 300 concerts every year.??
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other education completed
- Official transcripts must contain the details of all courses, grades etc
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited agency like ECE or WES
- Applicants must submit an essay as a part of the application
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in ibt;
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 110
- PTE: minimum 60
