Today?s professional school counselor provides effective psychological and behavioral interventions to support academic, career, and personal/social. The school counseling program prepares graduates to work as counselors in public and private P-12 school settings. Students satisfactorily completing the School Counseling concentration requirements and receiving a passing score on the PRAXIS specialty examination will be eligible for licensure or certification as a school counselor.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all the previous education directly to the graduate school
- The coursework completed must be evalauted by an independent evaluation service and report should be sent directly to the college
- Submit English Langauge Proficiency test scores
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 in undergraduate
- If GPA is less than 3.0 then student has to submit GRE score (minimum 146 in verbal and 140 in quantitative) or MAT (minimum 392)
- Three letters of recommendations from individuals
- Submit updated resume
- Submit statement of purpose stating the reason to pursue masters in counselling
- Submit a background check through S2Verify background check
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 550 in PBT; minimum 79 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum score of 100
