This program has rolling admissions which means that student can apply at any time. College will review full applications until two weeks prior to the start of classes each term.
- An art education master's degree sharpens students' artistic abilities as they are prepared to teach the next generation of artists and creators.
- The MST in visual arts-all grades (art education) prepares students to teach the next generation of artists and to create art experiences while honing their own artistic skills.
- RIT's art education master's degree is an accelerated visual art education program.
- Students will get a year of hands-on experience that will heavily mirror their life as art educators.
- The program prepares students for a teaching career by embedding certifications and job placement support right into the curriculum.
- Classes begin each August and conclude in May.
- Graduates of RIT's MST degree have a 96 percent pass rate on the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the program.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
