The B.S. in Geospatial Computing is an interdisciplinary degree that blends the Geospatial Technology Certificate and a Computer Science, CIT, or Data Analytics Cluster or Certificate with core Geology classes. The result is a robust, flexible B.S. degree that helps students develop the skills needed to be a geospatial or GIS analyst and/or computer technician. Geospatial analysts define and help solve spatial problems by gathering, analyzing, and managing data with geographic locations and producing maps. Students receive hands-on training in a variety of geospatial technologies including statistics, database management, Python programming, and ArcGIS, ENVI, and AutoCad software. The Geospatial Technology certificate completes 15-credits of the Geospatial Computing degree.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an agency like IERF or SpanTran
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional but is highly recommended
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 17 in reading; 17 in writing; 16 in listening and speaking
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0 with 6.0 in reading, 5.0 in writing, 6.0 in listening and 5.5 in speaking
- PTE: minimum score of 62
