MA in History is a 2-year, on-campus program offered on a full-time basis. The Graduate Program in History at the University of Pennsylvania has a long tradition of distinction. In this program, students have to take courses related to their intellectual interests in other programs, departments, and schools, including archaeology, comparative literature, education, folklore, law, philosophy, political science, sociology, and social policy.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants should have completed a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from a recognized university.
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
- A GPA of 3.0 average is required.
- Submission of GRE is not required for this program.

- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
