The Department offers a comprehensive academic undergraduate program that leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Geography with a concentration in either Human-Environment Relationships (HER) or Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIS&T).
The Department also offers access to various kinds of geospatial analytical software (e.g., ArcGIS, ERDAS, and ENVI) in our teaching/computing laboratory, access to field equipment (e.g., GPS units) from our field laboratory, research opportunities (e.g., in the Spatial Applications Research Center), one-on-one advising, awards and scholarships, information about career opportunities, and personal and professional development opportunities in various student organizations (Geography Club, GTU, ASPRS).
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education with English translation if not in English
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES approved agency
- Students should have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0
- Submit English Language Proficiency scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 520 in PBT; 68 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum score of 95
