Philosophy graduates from Parkside have developed skill in the presentation, analysis and criticism of arguments, and insight into human values and the rational bases that have been proposed for them.
They learn to listen critically and understand opposing views to identify and appreciate the values behind a person's thinking and to hold their own in debate. As a result, they have been able to pursue a variety of vocational interests.
Students with a certificate in Ethics are able to reflect on concrete ethics issues, state their arguments and views clearly, assess the quality of ethical argumentation, and understand complex ethical theories. This is a new and exciting opportunity for students of any major.
The Certificate in Ethics requires 12 credits. Two classes will be required and 2 others will be chosen from a list of available classes.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must contain course by course evaluation and should be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submitting SAT/ACT is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 71 in ibt;
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- Duolingo: minimum 100
