Civil engineers are involved in the following areas:
- Environmental Engineering (pollution control including the design of water and waste water facilities)
- Water Resources (study of the flow of water over land, under ground and storage)
- Transportation Engineering (design of highways and studies of traffic flow)
- Structural Engineering (design of building, bridges and other related structures)
- Geotechnical Engineering (study of soil behaviors, land slides and other topics)
The at Arkansas State University offers courses in all areas of civil engineering with a strong general education component. The faculty is involved in research, solving engineering problems in the community, consulting work. These experiences are brought into the classroom so students receive a well-rounded educational experience. This includes learning the engineering theory as well as the practical application of the theory to real world problems.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be submitted in both native language and English
- Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 2.3 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 on secondary/high school work
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 61 in iBT;
- IELTS: minimum 5.5
- PTE: minimum 43
- SAT: minimum 550 on evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: minimum 21 total
- High School Marks (India): 60% in English at X and XII in certificate
