The Bachelor of at Arkansas State University offers two baccalaureate degree in two majors:
- Vocal Music
The Vocal Music major is designed to provide vocal teaching techniques and field experience to prepare students for entry into the field.
- Instrumental Music
The Instrumental Music major is designed to provide instrumental teaching techniques and field experience to prepare students entry into the field.
Careers
Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Music Education degree are certified to teach music in grades K-12 in the state of Arkansas. Students often complete graduate study to pursue careers in higher education.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be submitted in both native language and English
- Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 2.3 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 on secondary/high school work
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit a sample DVD/CD for audition
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 61 in iBT;
- IELTS: minimum 5.5
- PTE: minimum 43
- SAT: minimum 550 on evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: minimum 21 total
- High School Marks (India): 60% in English at X and XII in certificate
