University of Iowa offers admission to more than 100 areas of study in graduate and professional students. The university offers several combined degree, online and distance-education programs. Application deadlines and admission requirements differ with the area of study opted for. International applicants must apply at their earliest to provide enough time for application evaluation and visa process.

Admissions to MBA are offered thrice a year at University of Iowa. Prospective students must have at least 18 months of post-undergrad professional, full-time work experience.

University of Iowa English Proficiency Requirements

International students must demonstrate English language proficiency by providing scores of any one of the following tests given below, to be eligible for admission at the University of Iowa:

US Visa Application Process

International students who have applied for a program at the University of Iowa must wait for their offer of admission before they request for the status of US student visa. Upon receiving the offer, students must log in to their MyUI account and access iHawk to upload the necessary financial documents required by the International Students and Scholar Services (ISSS) office.

Once the I-20 form is issued from the University of Iowa, the applicant can visit the nearby US Consulate for their visa appointment and apply for F-1 visa status. International students must request their immigration documents via eShipGlobal through express mail. For this, students need a username and password. Students can request the documents once they have an account using their University of Iowa ID number, mailing address, and other needed information.

University of Iowa Admission Decision

The admission committee at the University of Iowa holistically evaluates each application. The students receive a decision within a month of application submission. The university releases the I-20 visa information as soon as the applicant accepts the offer. The applicant must pay the SEVIS fee of 200 USD within two weeks of visa application notification. 

Non-US students can avail financial assistance from the University of Iowa. There are a limited number of merit scholarships. International students are suggested to seek external scholarships to study in USA from other sources as well.
