A lot of my friends were going, so I knew I would have roomates I knew and trusted. I liked how many different classes and majors there were too! I also heard that it was a friendly environment and had heard many great things about it! When I toured it, I saw how much I would love being here. It's such a nice place
Course Curriculum
It's ok
Exams
ACT, and there were minimum testing processes to go through. Very simple and easy process. I also had a lot of credits from before I went here so it all worked out really well. Many students from all different backgrounds come, and they really want as many students on this campus as possible, which is really cool!
Placement
I haven't gone on any placement jobs yet- but I have heard that people are going as far as Chicago, Texas, and many more for jobs linked from the school! They have many connections, and they really want to see you do well and help you get going with the next chapter of your life.
Internship
Yes they do! I get daily internships and job opportunities emailed! I know there is a lot from both in state and out of state. They also try to place you in Iowa City and they really want to help you do your best!
Events
We have so many! There practically one for everything. From public health, writing workshops, poetry readings, food festivals, diversity houses- there's everything. The school really lets the students choose what we want to do/how we want to celebrate. There's always something going on in campus so it's very fun!!!
Fees
Over all I'm paying around 14,000 for both semesters, or one year. That's with my dorm, and meal plan. It's not as bad as many, but the scholarships are mainly for students who have gone here for a few years, making it hard to get them. The Tuition isn't the problem- it's the high meal plan and housing, the parking, etc.
Scholarship
Yes, financial aid, but unsure what it's called.
Examination Structure
Very easy. For my classes I have little to no exams, mainly quizzes that are done from home and are open book. The exams I have taken were simple, many times the professor offered help, went over the exam the class before, and gave us study guides. Very simple, easy, and stress free.
Faculty
They are all very nice and laid back. They want you to pass and not stress too much. The TA is also very helpful and kind. It's unlike any other school I've been too!
Hostel
I live on campus, but we are the furthest from everything. It's hard to get to class-or anywhere- without waiting 20 minutes. It's sad that we can't park in our lot due to them not having enough space. I know the ones on campus are ok, mainly there's only like three buildings people want to live in on campus.
