The finance major prepares students for careers in business and/or postgraduate work by educating them in the fundamental principles and practical applications of modern financial analysis.
The careers of the majority of finance graduates can be broadly classified into one of four groups: personal financial planning, financial institutions management, corporate finance, and investments. Drake?s program offers students a choice of study from specializations consistent with these classifications. Graduates are prepared for advanced study in business or finance or to assume responsible, entry-level managerial positions in financial management in business, government and not-for-profit entities included. Furthermore, they possess an excellent foundation for future growth and career development.
There are six full time faculty who routinely teach classes in the finance program. Four of these teach exclusively in the finance program and are referred to as the department of finance below, the other two teach also teach in insurance and actuarial science. Their scholarly interests include capital structure, capital budgeting, derivatives, dividend policy, information economics, financial markets, and investments. All full-time faculty are engaged in teaching classes from the introductory to advanced levels.

Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school/secondary school attended showing all year grades and proof of completion of high school
- Submitting SAT/ACT scores is mandatory for test score pathway
- Students with test optional pathway need to submit an essay or attend a personal interview
- Submit a personal essay about yourself
- Submit a recommendation from your high school teacher or counselor
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

- Duolingo: minimum 105
- PTE: minimum 48
