The Botany major offers a solid foundation in biological principles with specialized courses in plant physiology, genetics, systematics, and ecology. With a degree in Botany, you will be well-prepared for advanced studies in graduate programs in fields such as agricultural and botanical research, forestry, landscape design, horticulture, ecology, conservation, sustainability, and environmental science and environmental education. You can also work with governmental agencies, private companies, or international organizations that address complex environmental, food supply, and health issues.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Complete a secondary school report given by the university
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredition agency like WES, SpanTran or ECE
- Submit one recommendation letter from a teacher, coach or supervisor
- Submit one essay
- Students are encouraged to appear in an interview
- Submit a statement of activities highlighting what you are doing since completion of high school
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT; 8.0+ in Essentials
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- PTE: minimum score of 53
- MELAB: minimum 91
- Duolingo: minimum score of 110
