Technical education and training consists of three specializations. Business education teacher education (BETE) leads to Ohio teacher licensure in integrated business for grades 7–12. Family and consumer sciences educationis designed for individuals interested in teaching the subject area for grades 7–12. Career and technical education is designed for individuals who are teaching or wish to teach technical subjects in high schools, career centers, correctional facilities, community and technical colleges, and other related educational institutions.
There is presently a shortage of qualified teachers in integrated business education, and graduates of the business education track will find a robust job market awaiting them.
Students who complete the career and technical education specialization are eligible for positions teaching technical subjects in high schools, career centers, correctional facilities, community/technical colleges and other related educational institutions. They may also find opportunities to work in a variety of corporate settings as corporate trainers or managers in business and industry. These positions involve planning, organizing and directing a variety of training activities such as on-the-job training and in-service programs to develop new skills.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Acamedic Requirements:
- High school or secondary school official transcripts of the final four years (9 to 12) should be sent to Ohio State
- SAT or ACT scores should be submitted (Optional for 2023 admissions)
- Recommendation from a teacher or counsellor (optional)
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL (IBT): minimum 79 required
- IELTS or IELTS indicator: minimum 6.5 required
- ACT: minimum 21 score on the English section
- SAT: minimum 27 required on the reading section
- Duolingo: minimum 105 required
