The Ohio State University Graduate Program in Vision Science offers Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in a broad range of basic and clinical research opportunities, with an emphasis on patient-based research. Applicants should apply to the Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy program depending on the desired degree. A Master’s degree is not required to apply to the PhD program. Master’s students can request permission to enroll in the PhD program after the completion of the first year of the Master’s program should they wish to further their education.
The purpose of The Ohio State University College of Optometry Graduate Program in Vision Science is to:
- develop successful, independent vision scientists,
- train future educators, and
- generate future leaders.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirement:
- A bachelor degree or professional degree from an accredited university or college
- Official transcripts of the previous education
- A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0 in the last degree earned
- GRE exam score is required
- Statement of Intent
- Three letters of recommendation
- CV
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: 79 on IBT; 550 on PBT
- IELTS: 7.0
- MELAB: 82
