The College offers 13 degree programs that equip students with the technical and management skills needed to launch careers in fields such as public management, planning, public safety, historic preservation, environmental studies, economic development, and housing. Degree completion programs are available for community college transfer students with A.A., A.A.S., or A.A.B. degrees in human services, health sciences, paralegal studies, police science, emergency management, or fire science.
Nonprofit Administration MajorThe Nonprofit Administration Major is designed to:
- Provide management and communications skills needed for leadership roles in complex organizations with a human services mission.
- Allow for in-depth study of community needs and introduce analytical tools for addressing issues and problems.
- Prepare students for future career challenges in nonprofit administration.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of the Nonprofit Administration program are employed in children and family services agencies, in nonprofit organizations, and in other agencies with a human services mission. A major in Nonprofit Administration is good preparation for law school or for graduate study in Public Administration, Social Work or Community Agency Counseling.
Career Services assistance is available at the college through job postings, government and post-graduate internship opportunities, and a mentoring program. The Cleveland State Career Services Office offers career counseling and resume review on site. The required nonprofit administration internship gives students practical experience in settings designed to complement their degree program.
