If you are interested in becoming an independent licensed advanced practice provider in a role that has medical and nursing functions, you should consider becoming a family nurse practitioner (FNP). An FNP is prepared to care for patients of all age groups in primary care. Primary care is focused on wellness, screening, early identification, prevention and management of illness rather than providing only illness care, where patients must become ill before providing care. Family nurse practitioners hold positions in specialty and primary care outpatient settings.?
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all universities attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited agency such as ECE or WES
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0
- Submit three letter of recommendation from nursing professionals
- Submit a copy of current nursing licensure from a state or territory of US
- Submit a current resume
- Submit a personal statement
- Applicants may have to provide a writing sample or complete an interview
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in IBT; 213 in CBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
