Employment opportunities in marketing are extensive and diverse. Careers are available in areas such as selling and sales management, services marketing, e-commerce, marketing research, advertising, product and brand management, retailing or merchandising, logistics and nonprofit marketing.

As marketing professionals advance in their careers, marketing management opportunities normally open for them. Generally the managerial side consists of planning, implementing and controlling specific marketing activities.

Each year more than 130 organizations visit BGSU specifically to recruit marketing graduates. Employment opportunities exist in companies of all sizes, from large multinational corporations to small agencies specializing in advertising or marketing research. Opportunities also exist in not-for-profit organizations and government agencies such as large hospitals and many educational organizations.

Some marketing graduates seek admission to graduate school. An alumni survey indicated that nearly 14 percent of BGSU marketing graduates had received or were currently working toward completion of a master’s degree.
