- The BIMO program is designed to allow students to explore living systems in molecular terms. While chemistry is concerned with the relationship between molecular structure and reactions, and biology focuses on cells and organisms, biochemistry and molecular biology probe the details of the structures and interactions of molecules in living systems in order to provide the foundation for a better understanding of biological molecules both individually and as members of more complex structures.
- The program has been structured to provide students the necessary background in biology and chemistry, a solid introduction to biochemistry and molecular biology (through BIMO 321 and 322), and the opportunity, through a wide choice of electives, to explore many areas of modern molecular biology and biochemistry.
- The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore living systems in molecular terms. Biochemistry and molecular biology are at the interface between the chemical and biological methods of looking at nature; therefore, the program draws heavily from these disciplines.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- School Report
- Mid-Year Report (Due February 26* or for schools on a trimester, when 2nd-trimester grades are available)
- All students applying for entry at Williams in fall 2021, 2022, or 2023 may choose whether to submit SAT/ACT exam results. Regardless, their application will be reviewed in a thorough, student-centered, holistic admission process.
-
If a student’s first language or the language of academic instruction isn't English, we'll use their application as an assessment of your English proficiency. Williams doesn't require students to take a proficiency exam like the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo, but William’s happy to review scores from those tests if students would like to submit them.
