Colby College Campus

The College campus is traditional, comfortable, and designed to meet the needs of students. Student social life is primarily organised by students, with a committee in charge of organising parties and events. The population size and function of student-run clubs vary.

Many students want to attend Colby because of the music clubs. Colby has a number of a cappella groups, including all-male and all-female ensembles that play at campus activities. The campus has a record of having the most volunteers and provides student housing in the US on campus.

Colby College Accommodation

The college is a residential college and almost all the students live on campus. The campus houses 31 residence halls with each one having its own personality, houses students from different classes, and provides amenities such as common areas and kitchenettes. Single and double rooms, as well as five- and six-person apartments, are available.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors have the option of choosing their roommates and accommodation based on their seniority. Every spring, Colby does a room draw. Based on seniority, each student is assigned a room-draw number and a pick-time. When it comes time to choose a room, the students will use an internet tool called Symplicity to do it.

Colby College Programs

UG at Colby College has over 56 majors and emphasises on project based study. Government, Economics, and Biology are the most popular majors offered by the college. The courses also promote independent research amongst students.

The college offers a dual degree in Engineering in collaboration with Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
