Upon completion of the?Communication - Communication Studies?programme from?Marist College, students should have knowledge of how organizations and groups function communicatively, how to facilitate these functions, as well as understanding human interaction across a variety of contexts. Students gain valuable experience in advanced public communication techniques as well as develop a greater understanding of their own communicative practices.?
Finally, this concentration allows students to begin understanding how traditional communication contexts are changing with the introduction of communicative technology.
The Department of Communication offers the Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with a wide range of attractive concentrations of study. These concentrations prepare students to graduate with the knowledge, skill, and experience?that are in high demand among some of the most selective employers and graduate programs in the country.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to produce visual, audio, and/or written works of excellence.
- Students will be able to engage with the theoretical and historical underpinnings of communication.
- Students will be able to gather, critically evaluate, and synthesize information from various sources.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school or secondary school and other universities attended
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional for the students
- Applicants should have completed the following courses: 4 years of English; 3 years of Science; 3 years of Maths; 3 years of History/Social Science; 2 years of foreign language
- Submit one counselor letter of recommendation and teacher letter of recommendation is optional
- Submit a personal essay about yourself and your goals
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 550 in PBT; 213 in CBT; 80 in IBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 115
