The program offered by the Mercyhurst University is interdisciplinary in nature; it's designed to prepare students for graduate studies and/or licensure or certification needed to be hired in the areas of athletic training, exercise science, physical therapy, occupational therapy and medicine.
A Mercyhurst student who is interested in pursuing a sports medicine major must declare a professional concentration upon entrance into the department. Students have the option of declaring a dual concentration. In all concentrations there is a strong emphasis on sports medicine, the sciences and the social sciences.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an accredition agency like WES, SpanTran or ECE
- Submit a recommendation letter
- Submit a writing sample
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 79 in iBT; 8.5+ in Essentials
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- PTE: minimum score of 85
- Duolingo: minimum score of 100
