Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) has mandate assigned for advancements in teaching, research and imparting extension education to the farmers of the State. MPKV has 2 faculties namely Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering which offer undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D. is offered by the university in the following disciplines:

Agriculture – (162 seats)

  • Eligibility: Candidate must possess degree in M.Sc. (Agri.) / M.Sc. (Hort.) or any other recognized Agriculture University with minimum 6.5 CGPA.

Agriculture Engineering – (25 seats)

  • Eligibility: Candidate must possess degree in M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) in the concerned subject or any other recognized Agriculture University with minimum 6.5 CGPA

Admission Process

Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying 10+2 examination.

How to Apply?

Candidates must apply for admission through online registration process from the official MCAER website and submit completed applications. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information

  • Candidate should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:
  1. In the “Admissions” section, click on “Online Application” tab.
  2. Click on “Apply Now” button and fill in the application form with all the relevant details.
  3. Click on “Save” button if you need to make any changes to the application form or click on “Submit” button if all the particulars are correct
  • In order to complete the application process, candidates must submit the registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for reserved category candidates) through Challan in State Bank of India branches or through Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking. Candidates can also submit the fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune
  • Upon successful submission of online applications, the candidate should take a printout of duly filled-in application form and send it along with all the self-attested copies of his/her relevant documents and a recent passport size photograph by Post or by Courier Service to the following address:

Reservation Criteria

  • 1 seat is reserved for the in-service candidates and 2% seats are reserved for other state students.
  • 13% seats are reserved for SC candidates and 7% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to ST category
