IIT Palakkad offers the B.Tech program in 4 disciplines namely Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. • On the basis of the score obtained in class 12^th, JEE main and JEE Advanced, a merit list will be prepared.
• Candidates who have their names on this list have to participate in the 7 rounds of JoSAA Counselling.
• At the time of counselling, applicants have to register online and fill the choice of college and course.

Engineering and Sciences

Graduation degree from CFTI (in a relevant stream with a minimum CGPA of 8/10 or above) OR M. Tech in a relevant stream OR Master’s degree by Research in Engineering. & Technology OR M.Sc in the relevant discipline.

Humanities & Social Sciences and Philosophy

Candidates with a Master’s degree in relevant discipline can apply for these two disciplines of Ph.D.

Staff Members and Scholars

The eligibility for such candidates is a ME/ M.Tech/M.Sc or any other Master’s degree with at least two years of work experience in the relevant field.

IIT Palakkad Ph.D. Selection Criteria

• The institute conducts the written test for shortlisting students.
• However, those who have a valid score in GATE/NBHM/CSIR NET/UGC NET are exempted from the written test and are shortlisted based on their score in the mentioned exams.
• The shortlisted candidates have to further appear for the Interview which helps the authority in making the final decision.
• Hence, candidates are selected based on their written test/entrance exam score followed by an interview.
