Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya (CGKV) was established by the Governor of Chhattisgarh State dated 11th April, 2012 with promulgation of the Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya Act, 2011.

At present, there are three constituent colleges of Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya:

  1. College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anjora, Durg
  2. College of Dairy Science and Food Technology, Raipur
  3. College of Fisheries, Kawardha Veterinary and Animal Sciences

The University offers a number of UG, PG and Ph.D.courses in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences to facilitate an integrated approach for all round development of livestock, poultry and fisheries through imparting quality education, intense research and development for sustainable productivity to augment and garner a dynamic livestock economy for the state.

Reservation policy is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, female, physically handicapped, freedom fighter and other category candidates as per Chhattisgarh Government Rules in admissions in UG, PG and Doctoral programmes

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya B.V.Sc & AH, B.Tech and B.F.Sc Admission 2023

The university offers Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) in Dairy Science and Food Technology, and Bachelor in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc). These programmes are designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills essential to a career in the field of agricultural science.

Admission to UG programme leading to Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc.& A.H.) degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English stream students securing 50% marks

  • Five (05) seats are filled through “All India Common Pre Veterinary Test” conducted by Veterinary Council of India
  • Four (04) seats are reserved for employees of Directorate of Veterinary Services (Govt.of Chhattisgarh)

Admission to UG programme leading to Bachelor of Technology (Dairy Science and Food Technology) [B.Tech.(DT)] degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination (Pre Engineering Test) conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English stream students securing 50% marks

Admission to UG programme leading to Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F. Sc.) degree is done through merit list of state level competitive examination conducted by Chhattisgarh State Professional Examination Board for XII class Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English ( 50% marks in these subjects overall ) stream students

  • Five (05) seats are filled through “All India Entrance Examination for Admission” conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research
  • Two (02) seats are reserved for employees of Department of Fisheries (Govt. of Chhattisgarh)

Reservation policy is applicable as per Chhattisgarh Government Rules in admissions in UG programmes

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya M.V.Sc and M.Tech Admission 2023

The University offers Postgraduate programmes to the students aspiring for higher studies in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The Postgraduate programmes leading to Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degrees are offered under 15 and 4 different specializations respectively.

Admission to postgraduate courses are done through merit lists of “Common Entrance” Test conducted by this Vishwavidyalaya.

Key Points to Note:

  • Over and above the seats to be filled by the Vishwavidyalaya, 25% seats in postgraduate programmes are filled through “All India Entrance Examination for Admission” conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya Ph.D Admission 2023

The University also provides doctoral programmes to the research aspirants in the field of Veterinary, Dairy Science and Food Technology.

The Ph.D. courses are offered under 19 different specialization subjects. All the doctoral level programmes are provided with a period of 3-6 years.

Admission to the Doctoral programmes under various specializations are done through merit lists of “Common Entrance” Test conducted by this Vishwavidyalaya.

Reservation policy is applicable as per Chhattisgarh Government Rules in admissions in the Doctoral programmes
