Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar is an autonomous institute situated in Kokrajhar District of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Assam. Affiliated to Guwahati University, the institute currently offers B.Tech, B. Design and Diploma programs. At present, CIT Kokrajhar offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in six specializations, Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Diploma course in six specializations. Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of marks scored in the respective entrance examinations.
- In case of B.Tech, the candidate should have passed 10+2 (Science) with minimum 45% marks.
- Admission to B.Tech (Regular) is done on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main as well as CITDEE.
- For B.Tech Lateral entry, the candidate should have completed Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology.

The institute offers Bachelor of Technology in 6 specializations through Regular as well as Lateral entry mode. Out of the total seats available for admission into the first semester of B. Tech, 40% of the seats are offered to candidates who have appeared in JEE Main whereas the remaining 60% of the seats are filled through Central Institute of Technology Degree Entrance Examination (CITDEE) followed by counselling. Along with it, the institute offers admission to second year (third semester) of B.Tech through Lateral and Vertical Entry scheme for diploma holder students.
For Direct Entry: 10+2 (Science) with 45% marks in the aggregate and 50% of marks (without any grace marks) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (relaxed up to 5% for ST/SC/PC candidates).
For Vertical Entry: Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology with 65% marks for GE/OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PC). 15 seats are reserved in each specialization under Vertical Entry admissions to the second year (third semester) of B.Tech for the eligible candidates of CIT, Kokrajhar.
For Lateral Entry (CITLET): Diploma in related branch of Engineering/Technology with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/ OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PC) or B.Sc. (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed up to 5% for SC/ST/PC). Such candidates will be admitted on the basis of marks scored in CITLET, conducted by the institute.

The institute also offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program with an intake of 60 seats to the candidates who have passed 10+2 (Science/Arts/Commerce or equivalent) with 50% marks (without any grace marks) in the aggregate. For SC/ST/PC candidates, there is a relaxation of 5% in the minimum required aggregate. Candidates who have completed minimum 2 years Diploma after 10th Standard in the relevant field of study (e.g., Visual Art, Fine Art, Commercial Art, Fashion Technology etc.) from any Govt. recognized institute approved by State Technical Board/AICTE/University.
B.Des. (Direct Entry): Admission to the first semester of B. Design program can be obtained in the following two ways:
- The candidate has to clear the CITBDAT entrance examination followed by counselling which will be conducted at CIT, Kokrahar.
- Candidates can also appear and qualify in UCEED conducted by IIT BOMBAY for admission to B.Design course.
B. Des. (Vertical Entry): Candidates who have passed 3 years diploma in Animation and Multimedia from CIT in the current year having requisite qualifying marks would be admitted without any entrance examinations.

In addition to B.Tech B.Design, the institute also offers Diploma course in several specializations with an intake of 30 seats in each of them. For admission to Diploma courses in various streams, candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 45% marks in the aggregate and 50% of marks (without any grace marks) in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics) and English taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (45% of marks for ST/SC/PC candidates).
Candidates shall be admitted to the Diploma program in the following two ways:

Candidates seeking admission to the courses offered by CIT, Kokrajhar can apply through Online/ Offline mode.
Offline Mode:
Application forms can be obtained from the selling centres upon payment of INR 1000 for GEN/OBC candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD. Completed applications should be submitted to "THE MEMBER SECRETARY, ADMISSION COMMITTEE, CIT, KOKRAJHAR, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”.
However, the duly filled application form may also be submitted to the “ÁDMISSION CELL, CIT, KOKRAJHAR” by hand on or before the last date. The candidates applying through Offline Mode need not submit any entrance examination fees (the price of Information Brochure is inclusive of entrance Examination fees).
Online Mode:
Candidates can fill the application form through the official admission portal of CIT, Kokrajhar. Candidates applying through Online Mode need to submit INR 1000 (for GEN/OBC candidates) and INR 500 (for SC/ST/PWD candidates) through the available payment modes.
Upon successful submission, candidates need to take a print out and send a hard copy of the online application form to “THE MEMBER SECRETARY, ADMISSION COMMITTEE, CIT, KOKRAJHAR, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”, by registered/speed/general post. The completed form should accompany with the entrance examination fees receipt paid through SBI, E-Collect.
Steps to Apply Online:
Step 1: Login/Register with your email. An account verification link will be sent to the registered email. Upon successful verification of the account, the candidate will be able to fill their application form.
Step 2: Fill the application form with all the valid information and proceed to pay the fees.
Step 3: Update payment details such as Reference Number after making payment through SBI Collect.
Step 4: Print the application form and send it to the institute admission committee.
Note: The admit card for the examinations conducted by the institute shall be issued online in the first week of May. The admit card can be downloaded from the CIT admission website upon entering the application form no. & the registered mobile number.
