NIT Puducherry Courses Admissions 2024: Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

NIT Puducherry offers a 4 years long B.Tech program in 5 different specializations via regular mode and charges a total fee of INR 2.12 lakhs for its B.Tech program. 

NIT Puducherry B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects from any recognized board of education. 
• Candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in their 10+2.

NIT Puducherry B.Tech Selection Criteria 

• Selection to the program is based on the ranks of candidates in the JEE Main entrance examination. 
• The final admission is offered after the successful completion of JoSAA counseling process. 

NIT Puducherry B.Tech Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

NIT Puducherry JEE Main cutoff is the minimum rank to get admitted to the B.Tech program. The cutoff will be released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The cutoff depends on various factors such as rank secured in the JEE Main examination, availability of seats, choice filling, reservation criteria, etc. NIT Puducherry BTech expected cutoff 2023 for general category candidates based on JoSAA 2022 round 1 opening and round 6 closing ranks is tabulated below:

How to Apply for JEE Main 2021?

Candidates who are eligible for admission have to take the JEE Main. The application process is given below:

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main
• Register for the online application form
• Make a note of the system-generated application number
• Create a password
• Log in again and fill out the form
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signature
• A fee of 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) will be charged/ It is to be paid through Debit card, Credit card, Net banking, UPI or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

For JOSAA Counseling

Candidates who have a positive JEE Main score have to go for JoSAA counselling. Follow these steps to register:

• Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
• Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
• Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate. 
• Click on ‘Submit changes’.
• Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
• Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
• Keep a printout of the page for future reference.

NIT Puducherry offers a 2 years long M.Tech program under 3 specializations namely, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The institute charges a fee of INR 1.65 lakhs for its M.Tech program.

NIT Puducherry M.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have passed a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized university. 
• Candidates must have scored at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in their graduation. 

NIT Puducherry M.Tech Selection Criteria 

• Candidates are selected on the basis of their ranks in the GATE entrance exam.
• An applying candidate is also required to appear for the CCMT counseling process for final admission into the program. 

How to apply for GATE? 

Those who are eligible for admission have to take the GATE. The registration process for it is given below:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email ID, and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate’s mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• A fee of 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved categories) will be charged. It is to be paid online.
• Download the form and keep a printout for future reference.

CCMT Counselling:

Candidates who take the GATE will have to go for CCMT counseling. To apply, follow the given steps:

• Register at the official website.
• Fill out the application form.
• Pay the registration fee of 2,200 INR (1,700 INR for reserved categories).
• Click on “I agree”.
• Start entering your choices. When it is done, lock the choices.
• Submit the application and keep a printout.

NIT Puducherry GATE Cutoff 2023 (Expected)

NIT Puducherry offers Ph.D programmes to all eligible candidates in 9 specializations under the departments of Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. 

NIT Puducherry Ph.D Eligibility Criteria 

• Engineering/ Technology Master’s in Engineering/ Technology with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
• Basic Science First Class Master’s degree in Science and Humanities with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in the relevant discipline. 
• Valid GATE/UGC/CSIR/NET score is mandatory for full-time candidates

NIT Puducherry Ph.D Selection Criteria 

• For selection to the Ph.D degrees, the institute conducts a common written test and personal interview for admissions of both part time and full time candidates.
