• Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech at NIT must have passed their 10+2 from any recognized board of education in PCM.

How to apply for JoSAA Counselling? 

 After a candidate qualifies the JEE-Main, they will have to undergo counselling before final selection. The procedure for registering for counselling is given below:

• Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
• Use the JEE Main application number to log in.
• Ensure that your candidate profile is accurate.
• Click on ‘Submit changes’.
• Fill out your preferred colleges and specializations according to the list of available options.
• Lock the selected choices by clicking on ‘I agree to lock my choices’.
• Keep a printout of the page for future reference.
• After submitting all the requisite information, pay the counselling fees (800 INR) online.
• Keep a printout of the application form. It will be needed for verification at the facilitation centre.

How to apply for the CAT?

Candidates who are eligible for admission to MBA have to take the CAT for selection. Follow these steps to register:

• Click on “Registration” for new users.
• Read the given instructions.
• Fill in the necessary details to generate OTP.
• Enter the OTP and validate it.
• Check ‘I Agree’ and submit the CAT application form.
• After submitting the details, a message will be sent to the registered mobile number containing the password, and an email will be sent containing the user ID.
• After the registration is complete, a unique login ID and password will be generated.

How to apply for NIMCET? 

Candidates eligible for MCA will have to take the NIMCET for selection. The process for registering is given below:

• Candidates have to register on the NIMCET website by creating the login, password as instructed therein.
• Fill all the details on the online form.
• The last date for submitting the form is March 31.
• Candidates will have to pay a fee of 2,500 INR online.
• All the relevant documents should be uploaded along with the online application form.
• Remember the login name, email ID, password and security question till the end of the NIMCET process.

NIT Durgapur offers a two-year M.Sc program in six specializations, namely, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Biotechnology. For admission to the program, candidates need to appear for the IIT JAM entrance examination.

• A bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university or institute.

NIT Durgapur M.Sc Application Process

The candidates who are eligible for studying M.Sc have to take the IIT JAM. Follow these steps to register:

• Visit the official website
• Register through the link by entering the candidate’s name, email address and mobile phone number. Create a password.
• After submitting the registration form, an enrolment ID would be sent to the mobile number.
• Fill out the form. Include the details of the JAM papers and choice of JAM examination cities.
• Pay the application fee online and keep a printout for future reference.
• You can download the admit card from this portal later.

For counseling:

• Visit the website of CCMN and click on “New Registration”.
• Enter the JAM score details.
• Enter the personal details carefully.
• Click on “proceed’ to preview the filled out form.
• Create a password and click on “Submit”. An OTP will be sent to your number.
• Enter the OTP. A Permanent Identifier (PID) will be created. Once this happens, no more registration will be allowed. Use this to log on to the Candidate’s Corner from the next time onwards.

NIT Durgapur offers a Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the postgraduate level for a duration of two years. Admissions to the program are based on the written test and interview conducted by the institute.

NIT Durgapur MSW Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must have passed graduation in any discipline with 50% marks or 5.5 CGPA considering all the subjects by regular full-time course.
• The students appearing for the final graduation examination may also apply but he/she has to score the above percentage up to the pre-final semester without any backlog.

NIT Durgapur MSW Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance. Shortlisted candidates will then be required to appear for a written test and interview conducted by the institute. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in the written test and interview.

NIT Durgapur offers a five-year Integrated M.Sc (B.Sc+M.Sc) program in chemistry. Students enrolled in this program are awarded a degree in B.Sc and M.Sc after completing the program. Candidates seeking admission to the program, need to appear for JEE Main entrance examination.

NIT Durgapur Integrated M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the Integrated M.Sc program at NIT Durgapur, candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with at least 60% marks.

NIT Durgapur Integrated M.Sc Selection Criteria

Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of JEE Main rank which is further followed by JoSAA counseling. Seats are allocated on the basis of JEE Main Rank, availability of seats, categories, and other factors. 

NIT Durgapur offers a Ph.D. program under 10 different departments to the Full-Time/Part-Time/Sponsored candidates. The institute accepts national entrance tests like CSIR/ UGC/ GATE/ JAM/ GPAT/ DBT-JRF/ JEST/ ICMR/ ICAR/ NBHM, etc. 

NIT Durgapur Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

• B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm degree with a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 (65% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 for SC/ST candidates.)

• M.E/ M.TECH/ M.Arch/ M.Pharm/ M.S/ MBA/ M.Sc/ M.com/ MBBS/ BDS/ PGDBM/ PGDM degree with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 (55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST candidates). 
• Graduate or Postgraduate degree with relevant NET qualification.

NIT Durgapur Ph.D. Selection Criteria

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in CSIR/ UGC/ GATE/ JAM/ GPAT/ DBT-JRF/ JEST/ ICMR/ ICAR/ NBHM entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates will then be required to appear for a written test conducted by the institute. There may be a further screening round for the selection of candidates.
